Adherence support

We provide tools, including a text adherence program and Optum® Schedule My Fill, to help your patients follow their care plan. Patients using the Schedule My Fill program achieved 100% medication adherence and persistence.1

Financial assistance

Optum Savings IQ™ connects patients with resources — foundation assistance, grants and copay cards — to help them pay for their therapy. Our financial assistance team helped save patients $823.5 million in 2023, and our annual goal is $1 billion this year.2

Dedicated support team

Our team of clinicians and patient care coordinators conduct first-fill consults, offer benefits checks, test claims, provide prior authorization and appeals support and perform welcome calls to enhance turnaround times and prevent care management gaps.

Digital provider solutions

The Optum Specialty Pharmacy provider portal is a secure, web-based pharmacy portal that gives you access to detailed patient information that makes it easier to prescribe specialty medications. The average wait time is 23 seconds to connect with a clinician via chat in our provider portal.3

Biosimilars are medications that are made from natural and living sources such as animal and plant cells, and can be made of sugars, proteins, living cells, tissues or a combination of these.4

Biosimilars:

  • Are highly similar to an existing biologic drug (sometimes called the reference product).
  • Come in the same doses as the original biologic.
  • Provide the same FDA-approved treatment benefits and have the same potential side effects as the original biologic.4
